My PS2 recently stopped reading disks, and since the warranty was long gone I opened it up to try and clean the laser. I swabbed it with alcohol and a q-tip, then I closed it back up, but it still doesn't read the disk, or even recognize there is a disk in the disk tray! Is the laser dead? Are there any mods I can do right now to run games from a hard drive or something?

google hd advance but you need a laser to read the disc so go get it cleaned for like 10 $ or get a new laser for 50$
