how can i tell if my xbox is one of the new 1080p ones
or an older 1080i one.

does it say it somewhere in the manual or on the console?
if it does i could not find it.

i guess if you looked on the web and had no luck the next best thing to do is to put in a 1080p HD dvd (assuming you have a 1080p tv) and hit the display button or the menu button and see which 1080 its playing... P or I. If you have a 1080p tv and and 1080p HD DVD but it still says its only coming in 1080i then you only have a 1080i xbox 360, and or HD dvd player.
