"I got a Slim with FW 3.60+. How do I downgrade it?"

A: Well, first, you cannot downgrade a Slim because it does not support 1.5 kernal. However, you can install Custom Firmware on it using a Pandora's Battery and a Magic Memory Stick with M33 files on it. It works just like recovering a phat PSP except you are installing CFW.

"Oh, man! I just FULLY-BRICKED my Slim! HELP ME!"

A: *insert failure music here* Sorry man, but your out of luck. Because of hardware incompatibilities, Pandora's Battery does not work on the Slim. However, you can create a battery on a Slim.

"Can I run homebrew and emulators on the Slim?"

A: Of course you can! You can run most homebrew on emulators on the Slim, however, since the Slim does not support 1.5 kernal, the Slim cannot play 1.5 kernal.

But that's why DaX created the 1.5 Kernal add-on!

The 1.5 kernal add-on lets you play most 1.5 homebrew, so you can play NoGravity whenever you want! Plus, emulators work just fine on the Slim, and since the Slim has double the RAM of a Phat PSP, emulators should be no problem.

"Can I use a Pandora on my Slim?"

A: No.

But you can use it for installing CFW.

"Can I use modchips on my Slim?"

A: Big fat NO. The Slim's hardware is different from the Phat's hardware, meaning the modchip won't support the Slim. Plus, modchips are designed to run on TA-079, TA-081, TA-082, and TA-086 hardware. The Slim uses TA-085 hardware, so the modchip won't work on the Slim.

"Can I install Custom Themes on my Slim?"

A: Yes, yes you can. There are two ways you can. You can install themes via flash0, or themes via Sony's built-in theme installer.

Sony's theme installer is safer, because it doesn't write to flash0, however most themes (and the cooler themes) are installed via flash0.

"I'm using iRShell on my Slim, and I'm trying to use iR remotes, but it dosen't work!"

A: Well, it will never work, becuase Sony took away the infared port on the Slim because it had no use. So, you cannot use iR remotes via Slim.

"When I try to use Remote Play to PS3 on my Slim, it says update to the latest firmware."

A: That means you have to upgrade to the latest custom firmware.
Might I reccomend 3.80 M33, then upgrading to 3.80 M33-4.

MORE Q&A COMING SOON.
i have a question about this

A: Of course you can! You can run most homebrew on emulators on the Slim, however, since the Slim does not support 1.5 kernal, the Slim cannot play 1.5 kernal.

But that's why DaX created the 1.5 Kernal add-on!

so you are telling me that the slim can run the 1.50 addon when you said you cant

i am confused

1.50 Add-on allows you to play 1.5 kernal.

So it can run 1.50 addon.

So once a slim is bricked, it stays bricked?

No the 150 addon won't work with a slim, and yes a pandora battery with a universal unbricker memstick will unbrick a psp slim, this guide is to inaccurate.

these answers are more accurate

"Oh, man! I just FULLY-BRICKED my Slim! HELP ME!"

A: you can unbrick it with a pandora battery and any of dark alex's Despertar del Cementerio (universal unbrickers) magic memory sticks.

"Can I run homebrew and emulators on the Slim?"

A: Of course you can! You can run most homebrew and emulators on the Slim as most homebrew and emulators are being ported for the 3.xx kernel, however, since the Slim does not support 1.5 kernal, the Slim cannot play 1.5 kernal so the old homebrew won't work unless you use team noobz E-LOADER V1.000 this will work like a devhook and can run most old homebrew apps.

so please don't try and install the 150 kernel addon to your slim as it is not compatible, it is for fats only.

"Can I use a Pandora on my Slim?"

A: yes you can use it to either unbrick your slim or to install cfw

thanks sicdude :)

that info really helped.. cuz before i was really confused whether or not i could use pandoras battery on the slim as i already ordered it from ebay :P

anyway.. if i installed the emulator.. would i be able to play an old homebrew app like the universal remote?.. or does that work through infrared (which i just learnt that slim doesnt have?) or what... geez man im still a bit confused about that part :P

anyway is it necessary to even install this "kernel add-on" ??

No the universal remote app won't work due to the slim not having ir (it was crap anyway lol)
as i said the 150 kernel addon is not compatible on the slim psp's, it is for the fat only.

if you are running custom firmware (m33) then you won't need any loaders, just copy and paste the iso/cso into the iso folder on your memory stick then go to scroll to game/memory stick on your psp and launch it:)

no, Emulators "Emulate" an old console like the sega genesis(Mega Drive) and then you need to find ROMs which are the games. You need CFW (Custom Firmware) to run them.
