This isn't a hack but it is a way to get ring tones (MP3's) on your u520 phone.
What you need is a USB Data cable for the u520 and the program BiPim. Now I'm doing this from memory so hopefully I get it right.
1) Connect your phone to the computer and start BitPim.
2) At the top select View - File System. Then on the left select Filesystem which should now be there and then go to the Folder that should be near the top and click on the + sign.
3) When the phone folders appear click on brew, then mod, and then folder 18067. You may need to record a sound file to get the information inside the folder to show.
4) Have and MP3 file about 15 to 30 seconds available. Then right click in the area and select add new file and import the MP3.
5) Turn your phone of and back on.
6) Use BitPim to navigate back to the 18067 folder and find the MsInfo.db file and save it to your computer. Find the MsInfo file and open it with WordPad (any other program will mess it up). Find you MP3 file which should look like this:
/ff/brew/mod/18067/greenhornet.mp3|0|0
Edit the file so it looks like this:
/ff/brew/mod/18067/greenhornet.mp3|0|5
Save it to your computer.
7) Right click on the MsInfo file in the phone and select over right and bring in the edited MsInfo from your computer. You should just have to turn your phone on and off and the MP3 should be located in your sound file.
8) Select Menu on your phone and then (7) Multimedia then (6) My Sounds. The added MP3 should now be listed. Highlight the MP3 and select options then (3) Set As (1) Ringtone.
Hopefully this won't be too confusing as I said I was trying to remember from memory so hopefully with this help you'll be able to figure it out. The number of MP3's you can add as ring tones will depend on the amount of memory you have available and the size of the file.
