IVE BEEN AWAY IN THE MILITARY FOR OVER YEAR AND GOT BACK ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO, DOES RIPIT4ME STILL WORK? IS THERE AN UPGRADE I TRIED BURNING A MOVIE BUT GOT AN ERROR CODE, ANY HELP.

Like shrink, the support for RIPIT4ME has been stopped and so it will not be able to backup newer movie releases. DVDFab HD (free) is still alive and well, I suggest you give it a try, the link to it is in the sig below.

AJJM yes ripit4me was pulled by the man it works on some newer movies but not all. so your freeware options are.

dvdfab decrypter to rip dvd shrink to transcode(sometimes you will need to use FixVTS to clean the file before transcoding with dvd shrink) then nero, imgburn or dvd decrypter to burn.
