on some games ive noticed that games lag, almost like it drops down maybe eh 10 or 15 frames (estimate) ive noticed this on kingdom hearts mostly, especially going through the warp at the magic kingdom/travers town area to hollow bastion world. dont games run faster off a hard drive, not slower?
you can't expect everything to play flawlessly. remember, games weren't meant to be played on the hdd.
first thing to do, switch the hdd. don't just put any hdd; look at the specs. higher cache and higher rpm will result in better gameplay. my maxtor 300gig runs at 7200rpm and has a 16mb cache. san andreas has nearly no lag; very small stutters but it's nothing.
second, always use the latest hdloader. higher compatability, and they may have fixed problems with other games.
i understand that i cant expect all games to work 100% just like the original game on hds but i wasnt really expecting lag. i thought i might of done something wrong or maybe my original disc was messed up when i installed it on the hd. thanx though, just wanted to clear it up
Could also be a combo of the software & rendering hardware, as an example it's possable to make socom 2 lag offline when using the orignal PS2 DVD disk,it happens quite a lot with PS2 games,my xbox 1 has occasional lag on certain games tho not normally as anywhere near as bad as the PS2,i just put it down to console efficiency
