I just recently bricked my psp, if i bought a datel tool battery and just popped it in, would it go directly to service mode without magic stick? And also, if i created a magic stick not through my psp but through a card reader and inserted it into my psp, would that work? I just need suggestions on how to unbrick my psp without having a working one. Thanks

When you pop in a modded battery, such as Datel battery, all that does is override the bootloader. In noob language, is simply forces the PSP to boot to the memory stick and not the internal flash. If you pop in a modded battery with no magic stick, nothing will happen, since their is no device to boot to.
Yes you can use a card reader to create the memory stick. Do a little searching, their are "easy guides" and "auto installers" everywhere on this forum.
