HELP! Wiikey GCOS disks don't work

I installed a wiikey on my US Wii and I downloaded and burned the gcos v1.2 and 1.3 discs. The 1.2 disc is 4.37gbs large and the 1.3 6.75mbs. I burned them on LG DVD-Rs and at 4x speed using nero. The 1.2 disc just didn't work prompting me to eject the disc and restart the wii. The 1.3 disc loads but when the screen appears, everything freezes and I cant use a gamecube controller and the WiiMote shuts off. Has anyone had this problem? Did I install incorrectly? Download the wrong discs? or Do you think it may be a problem with the install?
