LED mod help!

ok guys, I know nothing about how an LED is installed, how it works, or how to power it.

basically I am looking to replace the green reset power LED with a purple LED color. then install a white case mod with it. is this possible? if so, would someone be nice enough to help me buy the parts needed, install them and guide me through the process?

I also wanted to install a purple LED on the controller (where the red light usually is).

P.S. this is for the FAT PS2; I also have a slim Ps2.

The reset switch is going to be hard to mod because the led is so small and you would require great soldering skills the controller can be done with novice soldering skills
