Hello there. I've got a question about Wii bricking and semi-bricking.

I understand that updating a Wii with firmware from a different region can cause issues, though from what I've heard the main issues are a broken Settings menu and duplicate channels in the Wii's main menu.

I'm planning to import Smash Bros. Brawl from Japan to play on an NTSC U console with Wiikey. If I update the firmware via an update on the disc and "semi-brick" my Wii, will I still be able to play games normally?
And will it likely be possible to undo any potential damage by updating with a future NTSC U game with update?

Thanks for any helpful information.
