Hi,
I just got a PS2 a week or so ago and I'm looking at buying a boot disk so that I can back up the games I buy. I'm not sure what I should buy (maybe swapdisk?). I'm also unsure about where I should buy it from. I live in Australia and I'm looking for something pretty inexpensive. If you could suggest anything I would be really grateful!
Thanks

zoom1834,

I took your advice an ordered swap magic from your link; however, it has been over a week with no confimation by email as stated. Shipping is on the same day too. I did get an email saying they have my money though but that is it. Come to find out there is a little of unhappy people out there with this company.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will even take their phone number if you have it.

If I were you Newport, I would definately try a different site. To this day I still have not received mine from mochip.com. I found a couple that actually have phone numbers and you can talk to someone in person. Questions I asked were how long in business, were the products ship from, how long for shipping? I haven't ordered another set of disks yet but I will probably go with keepgaming.com. I gave modchip.com till today to get back to me which they never do. And I am going to file a dispute with my credit card co.

good luck

do not get swap magic! (if you have a non-slimline) get an ar max and follow this tutorial on how to install somthing called the independence exploit. it's better but cheaper! u can get the cogswap "elf" (exploit program) here
more "elfs" can be found here
put your elfs on the ar max's usb drive

Thanks for the info, but doesn't that just let me play cd backups? I can do that now with gameshark. Let me know since I still do not have the swap magic disks I paid for on 2-12.
