SEAGATE Model - ST315324A Harddrive is compatible with the PS2, also, i know how to insert the HD into the ps2 i just don't understand how to format it (it's an old computer harddrive) for the ps2, if i need to use HD LOADER or anything i am just confused, maybe because im sitting up all night into the next morning trying to figure these things out but whatever....
BTW ---> I HAVE A MODCHIPPED PS2 ( "DUO 3" i believe )
I used a program called winhiip to format the hard drive but i think when you boot hdloader with an unformatted hard drive in it will format it for you. from what i understand the hard drive must be at least 40gb, any lower will not work *someone please verify*. Pretty much any seagate, western digital or maxtor (best) has pretty much a 99.99% chance of working. You can always check on this site
Alright thanks man, i read somewhere that it can be a minimum of 1GB HDD but it would be worthless and nothing would fit on it, so 40 was just a suggestion..
more questions....
1.)Will any ps2 network adapter work?
2.)How would i connect the ps2 harddrive with the computer? What port?
3.)Do most computers (Compaq/Hewlett and Packard) brand computers have usually 80 GB because this is an old computer HDD i took out of an old computer?
4.) THANKS IN ADVANCE
Alright thanks man, everything is hooked up, and i got the PS2 HDD connected with my computer through LAN connection (FlashFXP on port 21 blah blah blah) but when i start the iso on my ps2 it runs fine, when i start flashFXP on my computer, it connects for like 10 seconds then says
"unable to connect, retry connection in 120 seconds"
Do you have any idea what is happening?
