anyone have any problems with shattered? none of my programs recognize the dvd, is it a bad disc or protection issue? the original works fine in my dvd player, but doesnt seem to spin right in computer...
i use, ripit4me, dvd fab, anydvd.

It sounds like a bad press, when it is not seen by the PC drives...

Agree. Bad presses are showing up more frequently these days, sadly enough.

well i went out just now and got another copy and it still isnt reading on any of my programs, it just keeps saying insert disc, or drive not ready?!?!?!?! and it does work in my dvd player.
its a lionsgate film, could this be a new encryption?

If you bought it from the exactly the same place, it is possible they had a bad batch.
Is your drive able to see other original pressed discs?
With DVDFab, toggle between enabling/disabling the PathPlayer, the AI Scanner for AnyDVD

UPDATE dvdfab decrypter and or anydvd to the latest versions

if after you download the updates and the drive still won't read it then its a drive problem in which case you will need a different brand of drive to read it. I had this problem with a Lite-On drive and my Plextor/Pioneer drives read the movie fine

i just had the same problem with 'away from her' original copy, i do have a lite on, and it has been burning copies that skip now and then recently, perhaps its time to get a new one... thanks for the advice everyone

First, I would try looking at device manager to validate that the PC sees the drive. To do this: Right-click on My Computer and select Properties. Go to Hardware tab ,and select Device Manager. If it's not present, try using a CD-ROM cleaner (see pic below), as the laser that reads the CD is probably dirty. In any case, I would also attempt to update the firmware.
