Ok, I have Win XP Pro loaded on a 320 gig hard drive. I have loaded Vista 32 bit Home Premium on the same PC, "80 gig hard drive", as a stand alone load. In other words I discconnected the 320 hard drive and loaded the 80 gig as a fresh install of Vista.

NOTE: I know that some would rather have loaded the oldest version of windows first and then added the second HDD loading Vista. Please dont refer to this method of configuring a dual boot. I have already loaded both operating systems as stand alone, "meaning each one was plugged intp my PC by thereselves upon loading the operating systems". I would like to configure so when I turn on my pc it gives me an option to choose and boot whichever one I choose.

Please dont give me options that require me to have to enter my bios and choose which one to boot from.

Does anyone have experience with dual booting xp pro and vista, "seperate hard drives", and individually loaded operating systems.

Sum it up:

XP Pro 320 gig hdd

Vista Home Premium 32 bit 80 gig hdd

Loaded on same pc, "one at a time", without other one connected.

I would like to have option at startup to select which os to boot.

I do not want to use the bios option, "requires changing boot in bios each time".

P.S. I have read up on several different methods of dual-booting with my scenario. I need some more hands on help before I proceed. Sure I could reload vista and do a repair with the Vista disk but I choose not to go that route. I have noticed alot of imformation on this subject because alot of people prefer XP Pro for certain applications and alot of people prefer Vista for other applications. This should become a Sticky.

Any help would be appreciated.
