I've tried searching for guides about how to open up a Wii, but I haven't found anything using the search method, and so decided it might be okay to make a thread revolving around that. The reason I'm trying to open up the case is to replace it with this: http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/D2C-...2Ckey-p-56.html
According to this, this is the backhalf of the Wii that already has the DC2key soldered in, meaning all you have to do is just swap the backhalf of you're Wii and reconnect everything. Well...being new at this, I need a detaled guide, so if anyone can point me in the direction of such a thing, please do so. Keep in mind; I'm a visual learner, so if you can find one that includes lots of photos, that would be tons of help. Also would I need to purchase one of those Triwing screwdrivers?
Also, since their going for the same thing, which would be better, DC2key or Argon? I think they're the same according to what bit I know. The only thing is DC2key can't update, because really, there is no need to since it bypasses the drive (I think). Still, if a game comes out and it can't be supported, well then you're out of luck.
Speaking of which, for Argon, you can update it using prorammer, but how do you put the firmware update on it to start with? Also, yeah, I did look at there guide, but it's a little confusing: http://www.infectus.biz/downloads/guidaargonENG.pdf
Last, and most important of all, is Mod Central Centeral (www.modchipcentral.com) a reliable place to shop at?
You can also google "wii disassemble" and you'll come across some YouTube videos. I didn't watch any, as I wasn't interested, but they might be useful.
