Hi. Does anybody know of a program that will allow me to use my laptop as a hands free phone. Not over the internet and not with my mobile.... I have a dial up connection to my laptop (which is running vista) and when my dial up connection is not connected, I want to be able to make & take calls with my laptop like it was just an ordinary hands free landline. Answering machine and caller id additions would be a bonus, but not a must. Please somebody help me! Remember - NOT using the internet connection, just the phone line into my modem.

These are very cheap and usually come with some software like supervoice which can call landlines.

You could use a microphone and speakers but this often doesnt work very well so you may want to get a headset instead.
