I have been trying to burn individual chapters from the tv show unsolved mysteries using dvdflick and imgburn and one of the problems is it takes up to an hour an a half just to encode with dvdflick then 12 minutes with ingburn to burn the files and I was told it should take much less then that with both dvdshrink and dvdfab decryptor which i have only both those programs give me error pop-ups after installing and won't work and both dvdflick and imgburn only burn half the files I want to a disc and some chapters start to freeze . My DVD burner is a year and a half years old and when I friend listed to it burn it makes a loud noise that it shouldn't so does this sound like I need to replace the burner or maybe not let dvdflick burn the files to a disc immedietely after encoding using imgburn to burn . I use HPinvent discs and imgburn is burning at max speed when it immedietely pop-ups after dvdflick is done .

Are you recording those shows, or they are on a DVD and you want to rip them and save individual chapters?
Do not burn at maximum speed, not more than half the rated speed of your discs.
What is the code of those discs? HP are not known for high quality discs.
What burner do you have? Is the firmware up to date?

The burner I have is a demention E-310 that came with my computer a year and a half ago, and the discs are DVD+R 4.7GB if that,s what you mean by code. I was told to update my firmware i basically have to get a new burner , because I was told the loud sound coming from it was not normal . Is there some other way to update a burner ? Normally I would use maxell discs and they would record fine until recently .

Still didn't answer the question regarding the video files that you are trying to back up.

To check the ID of your discs, put a disc in your burner. Open ImgBurn and under Mode, select Read.

On the right hand side ImgBurn will display the media code that you are using. The brand name that the discs are sold under, HP, doesn't mean much, what matters is the manufacturer's code.
To check the firmware of your burner, go to Tools->Drive->Check for Firmware updates.
The current firmware and burner identification should also be displayed by Imgburn:

The ID of my discs is listed as DISC ID CMC MAG-MO1-00 . At the top right hand side of imgburn has DVD+RW ND-3750A 104B- ATA.The firmware version is 104b and I'm taken to a site and how do I go about updating this on this site ? The video files I tried to convert over to DVD using dvdflick are individual chapters from the tv show unsolved mysteries and the stories are broken up into segments .
