so soon im going to buy a ps2 that I want to install a ide hdd into and I want to know what would be the best choice for this? I know there is a way to install ide hdd on certain slim ps2s and ofc fat ps2s all can take an ide hdd. what should I do here? and what kind of ide hdd should I purchase? also as far as booting backups through the hdd what should I use? memor32? I cant solder worth crap so modchip is out of the question really... what would be the wisest and easiest path to loading backups via hdd and which ps2 version would be the best choice to buy?

Get an Old FAT ps2 that is easiest it accepts the Hdd internally with a network adaptor. The fat also has no lag time on loading and video modes. The USB uses Slow usb 1.1 not the fast 2.0 for transfer and video is choppy and loads are like with the disc. The slim requires a USB harddrive. for large HDD >160 gb you MUST purchase Hd loader 3.0 or usb extreme. Hope this helps.

I recommend getting an action replay max instead of HDavdavance or HDloader. It is easier to get and you can use it to put a memory card exploit on your memory card. With this you can out HDloader or advance or any other programs onto a USB drive for free.
