Okay, I think this with no doubt would help everyone if someone would just tell us if this game freaking has protection. I don't care about other mod chips except WiiKey. Has anyone tried WiiKey to work with SSBB? Will someone please answer straight cause I can't find any question as direct as this. What is up with freakin WiiKey team? Did they ditch us? I guess tomorrow will be the answer to all questions.

But since I'm nice, a quick rundown for those too lazy to read.

The game does seem to have some new copy protection in that the LG drives that read other wii disks cant rip this one to an iso. Though theres some debate as to weather this is a copy protection or just due to the disk being dual layer.

In addition, early reports are saying that origional disks arent running on wiis with wiikeys installed, but there are also reports of it working using some swap tricks. So again its not totally clear if this is copy protection or just a problem with the region unblocking. But my money is on the copy protection in both cases.

And the wiikey team is still around and active from what I hear. They just stopped supporting their site due to constant DDOS attacks and problems with the law but updates will still be released.

for what it's worth, i'm going to try and find a copy on the way home from work today (i live in japan, and own a japanese wii). my wii has a wiikey in it that i never bothered to patch to 1.9g as i own an original of SMG.

the rumors that "it's not working even with original discs" has me worried, but if i can score a copy (likely it sold out while i was at work), i'll at least be able to test that one function (original on a japanese wiikey'd wii).
