Problem with legit battery.

So, this is the problem:

I've agreed to fix a PSP that had been dropped and hit the ground. Screen works A ok, and buttons respond as well as used buttons ever will =)

The only problem is that it wont charge or work with a battery in it. When I use an AC adapter it works flawlessly, but as stated, when a battery is inserted it won't charge, or run without AC adapter. I've measured the connections between the charger contacts and the battery contacts, and everything is connected ok, so what I'm wondering is if there's something anyone can say that I've probably missed. Thanks in advance!

Yeah, forgot to say that I tested two other batterys, which didn't work, and I tested the battery from the damaged PSP in another PSP, and it worked. So, the battery's not the problem.

Well, yeah. I've gathered that much. Is there someone out there who knows what could be wrong in the machine if the battery won't charge? I've tried other batterys, and they won't work either.
