Hey all you experts out there.. I need some really good advice. Let's say that you're going on a long trip and you're taking your laptop with ya. You want to rip down your dvd collection into smaller files so that you can watch them on the plane and while abroad. Here's what I've done so far.

1. Tested Dvd shrink, and I must've shrunk that file down four times and turned it into an avi, but it took me a while and still came out over 1 GB.

2. Tested Easy Media Center's "convert" program with a different file and that didn't do too bad, but the quality wasn't the best. I tried the Divx format. That came down to 600 something in size.

3. Now I'm on to DvdFab with a different file in hopes that the "generic" avi setting will do the trick. But it's looks like it's going to take over an hour to do.

I guess what I'm trying to ask is what's the best (and quickest) method to get a really descent output file that's not going to take me a multi-step process to do what it is that I'm trying to accomplish.
