I have a problem with mirc and was wondering if everyone on earth can help me, Anyway I download Unlisenced anime using Mirc (v6.12). I am on an edu with a firewall that I don't know the type of, My problem is that when I try to use some of the bots I get the DCC pending, I change my port to the one that was being asked, tried again and still got the same message. . .however at other times those same bots work fine. . . . which brings me to next problem, When I get a download after a while, my computer hiccups in what I call "Minifreezes,"my whole computer freezes for about 8 seconds at a time the will un freeze for about 11 seconds. I've taken the following actions :Upgraded to mirc 6.12 from 6.03 and I even registered, I had my ports scanned set, my ports on the port range to those ones that are open. I defragmented my computer, did a system restore and an undo of that because that didn't work, yet still my computer does this. . . When I had Bittorent, it did this all the time untill it just stopped downloading entirely (which is why I use mirc) I don't think that this should be an issue, my copmuter has a pntium 4 processor with 2.0Ghz with 256MB of RAM of processing power So I don't really know what to do with this issue, I am actually in the process of getting knoppix so I can see what's going on in my computer because it might be a software problem, but in the meantime, I appreciate any help.
