crc error when reading original disc

i have dvd shrink and occasionally i get this message crc error when i am in the analysing part of the origanal disc and dvd shrink wont let me continue is there a way to get around this

Use a more up to date decrypter such as DVDFab(freeware). Shrink can not handle many of the encryptions on the newer discs. If it is an older DVD, it may be scratched or otherwise damaged.

a better process

dvdfab decrypter to rip dvd shrink to transcode(sometimes you will need to use FixVTS or VOB Blanker to clean the file before transcoding with dvd shrink) then nero, imgburn or dvd decrypter to burn.
