Wiikey online ban?

Im thinking about getting a wii, and modding it. But when chipped, will nintendo ban the wii, so that playing online is no longer possible? Has the firmware of the chip got to do anything with it? Like... avoid detection or something.

nintendo will never know if you have a wiikey. You can play online with a backup and it will play like the real game. none of nintendo's updates has stop the wiikey. However you do need to update your wiikey to a 1.9g to play Super Mario Galaxy. But was are all waiting for a new update so we can play Super Smash Brawl.

ahh i see, how about other chips, like the d2ckey? Can a wii with the d2c motherboard use the wiikey, or is it only limited to the d2ckey?

d2c wii's can only use the dc2key or argon chip
wiikey only works with d2b and earlier wii's
