Hi, i was just wondering if anyone knows how dark alex can access the internal infomation of the psp, is there a program or can you somehow access it through msdos? i have no idea where to start, i dont want to "hack" the thing i just want understand and look for myself, things like accessing flash0 on official firmware, there must be a way to do it, if anyone can give me some info about it, that would be great.

yes i know he gets access to the firmware, we all do!!! but isnt flash0 part of the system itself? official or custom firmware?
i use to thing that he would get the firmware downloads from sony then open them up and then mod them, but there is way way more to it then that, there must be a way to open the info in the psp through usb to pc on official firmware to view its internal content?
or is flash0 only in the firmware eboot.pbp's them self
im trying to understand how all this works but i cant find any info on the net?
sony has allowed use to add things to the internal folder's phot, music, video, game.
and custom firmware has gave use the option to view flash0,1,2,etc and all its content,is this infomation part of the psp's internal workings or is it all on the firmware eboot.pbp's?

well... havent u wonder y the update file is so big. There has to be more than just normal updates, Im guessing inside the PBP file has all the flash drives. The flash drive is inside the psp motherboard. Its on CFW and OFW.
P.S. : Y dont u go to the darkalex irc ... maybe they can help.

do you know what/where i can download to open these file's to view there content, thanks!!!

ok thanks for that, is there a way to unpack these files without using the psp to do it?
or is the psp the ONLY WAY to do it, if it is the only way to do it, how did someone create the psp program to unpack these files without knowing whats in them???

well wouldnt the topmenu_plugin file and all that be in one of the files in the eboot.pbp, im not looking for that, it was just an example, but these files must be in the eboot.pbp somewhere, and i would like to view these files through extracting them some how without using the psp???
its an easy question with a hard way to get the answer, because not to many people can understand what i am after.
these files are viewable on custom firmware, through usb, flash0, well these files are in the eboot.pbp somewhere?
I want to open the files untill i find all these topmenu_plugin.rco bla bla bla and all that.
for example, if i have a psp on 3.80 ofw and i download the 3.90 update file (eboot.pbp) and i can find the topmenu_plugin.rco inside that eboot then i should be able to midify the topmenu_plugin.rco and then put it all back in the eboot.pbp and then run the update like usual and it should run with the changed topmenu_plugin.rco but still on ofw?

i have no clue of getting a dumper which does not require a psp or such.
Im pretty sure that wont work (topmenu plugin). Im guessing u are going to have to change the main plugins (prx files), rather than the rco files. (U can try download the 1.5 proof of concept from DA and compare it with the OFW with a hex editor). As i said b4, im not a professional but just giving out my opinions
