Hi Folks,

Can anybody help me to know how to back up my originals, deleting some scenes which are not advisable for children, and burning it back to DVD keeping the originals Menus however?

I tried to do it this way:

1- ripping Star Wars III with DVDShrink in my virtual PC which runs along OS Tiger in my MAC.

2- Dragging the ISO file to my MAC Desktop.

3- Opening it, then dragging the selected VOB file (Main feature, Eng. Track) to MPEG Streamclip.

4- Cutting the scenes which I consider too violent for my kids.

5- Burning such file with Toast8 to DVD.

The result is a mess, de- synchronisation between audio & video; an overlapping of the Spanish,English,French introduction titles of the beginning.

Does anyone have ideas about how to do it right?

Thanks!

Why not use MacTheRipper to rip the DVD?

Do you think using Mac the ripper instead of DVD Shrink would made a difference?

Hello, Huilifoj:

This is an interesting project. If you are merely dropping the spliced VOB files into Toast, I can imagine that there would be a synchronization problem.

Try this approach, if you're still interested:

1. Rip the DVD with MacTheRipper.
2. Edit out the objectionable material from the VOB files with MPEG Streamclip.
3, Export the edited VOB file to a Quicktime file with MPEG Streamclip.
4. Check the Quicktime file for synchronization problems.
5. Use VisualHub to stitch together your sequence of Quicktime clips into a DVD VIDEO_TS folder
6. Burn the resulting VIDEO_TS folder with Toast.

Cheers
