Playing Guitar hero 3 on an LCD tv

Most of you probably know that playing guitar hero on a playstation or wii with an lcd tv sucks because it has a delayed effect and you have to strum before it gets to the note. I was wondering if there was any way to fix this? It's really frustrating trying to play when it does that. I bought component cable because they tried telling me that would work but it didn't. I just don't get how you can upgrade your tv and it downgrades your ability to play games. I don't know much about tv's so maybe there is just some setting i need to change. Can someone help. Thanks

There's an option in the Guitar Hero menu called "calibrate lag". That will let you adjust the game's response time to compensate for your TV's lag.

Your response time is slower on your LCD because typically, LCD's have slower refresh rates than other tvs.

This is also true in computer gaming as well. Gamers used to complain about "ghosting" on LCDs due to a slower refresh rate than CRTs.

If you were in the market again for an LCD, compare refresh rates to screens that you know do not have this problem so you know how low of a MS(milisecond) rating you would need for your LCD.

I do not know about all LCDs currently available but the new OLED LCDs coming out from Samsung soon have some refresh rates as low as 2 ms!
