A friend informed that you can use swap magic saved onto a memory card to boot games instead of using the disk is this true? If so can I use a USB flash drive also to do this?
If so how?

Your going to have to do the memory card exploit which requires action replay or swap magic

Yeah but I thought I didnt need that for the swap magic mem exploit? I thought that was only the independence? From what I gather in the read me's on the files sent to me I dont need that but the read me's arent for a flash drive so I need a bit more extra assitance.
It would defeat the purpose, why wouldnt you just use the swap magic DVD if you needed a PS1 game in that case?

I will copy and paste the stuff later. I have a independence exploit and a swap magic exploit in my e-mail and you dont need PS1 discs for the swap magic!

Damn Yahoo mail didn't save them long enough but I will get the e-mail again. My PC was down for a few dyas and I got a new one so I was hopeing that it was still in my e-mail. Dont wory Ill get it to you and show you.
I had the independence and the swap magic memory card exploits. The swap magic works like the independence but you don't need a disc to boot it.

Which Swap Magic do you have? I have the SM 3.8 elf file and SM 3.8 DVD.
If you have Swap Magic older version, you can then boot either the elf file or DVD. You can download my Ulaunch 4.12 to be able to copy files from either usb etc to mc. or boot from mc, usb etc.
Just click my name to the left and go to my folder. Now sometimes using the downloaded Swap Magic, you may have to do a T0C refresh to be able to use it.

Just extract the uLaunch 4.12 and then you will have an ISO which you burn to DVD.
Boot it with your SM 3.6 DVD, and then this guide explains uLaunch.
With it you can then be able to use Filebrowser, to then browse either memory cards, CDFS, Mass(which is your usb device) and hdd and then launch elf files etc.
On my uLaunch I have already added some elf files, you can either start them by shortcuts, or by using filebrowser, and browsing CDFS, and going to the ELFS folder.

Cool. I have to go out and get more DVDs first but does this actually allow me to boot games with out a disc from a mass storage device like my USB drive?
As soon as I get more DVDs Ill copy it and get started but I need to make sure this is going to allow me to boot games without a disc.
Thanks smoky!

Yes you can play backup games on a USB drive using usbadvance.elf, renamed to SWAPMAGIC.ELF
Just follow Guides in this post. It will explain everything.
Not all games are compatible so you may have to do a DNAS Swap.
Read #2 and #3 of the post in that same thread.
If you decide you have to do that, then follow my post in this thread and on for Tools needed and files.
