PSP lcd light faint

I tried my lcd in a buddies psp since his was gone just to make sure that was the problem and now the screen comes on but you cant realy see anything. It lights up and the brightness changes. All the color stuff is very faint and hard to see. Can someone tell me if the screen is toast or is there something else wrong.

its probably the backlight but otherwise yeah its gone

I will check the backlight but it seems real bright. Its almost like its to bright to where it over powers the screen. I can see just about everything on the screen its just very lightly colored, like when you try looking at your cellphone on bright sun.

Its probably the backlight. Move to a dark area if u see any light from the screen then the backlight is ok. Backlight can light up a small room, if it doesnt do that then the backlight is dead or the fuse (or resistor donno what) is burned out on the motherboard.

no its not because of the backlight. i have the same problem. dont mess with the backlight or u will damage that one too. my psp also doesnt show full brightness. its the lcd which is fake. i tried my lcd with another psp but still no full brightness. u need to buy a new lcd screen.
