I downloaded dvd fab hd decrypter. The decrypter saves the movie to the hard drive. Then i open dvd shrink, hit open files and bring up the movie. From there i hit back up. It seems to work fine wile it encodes the movie. I'm using nero 6.6.0.14 i have tried nero 6.6.0.18., and nero version 8 but it still doesn't do the job. When it tries to burn, it does 1% and then it says backup fail!
Any help would be greatly appriciated, thanks. This is the message i get...

Too much going on here. The object is to keep as much memory free while burning as possible. Don't multitask while burning, turn off background applications, etc.
Quote: CdRomPeripheral : MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-841S atapi Port 2 ID 0 DMA: Off
Enable DMA.
Here's a guide.

How Old is Your Burner?
If You Have Access to another Comp with a Burner, You Might want to try Burning with that.
There may a conflict between the computer and the burner
Check out the burner and look at the cables and make sure they are seated into the burner properly and securely.
You Might want to change Media to a Higher Quality Disc. (Verbatum or TYs)
Try using another Burn Engine Such as Imgburn.

I noticed Nero 8 being used with Shrink. Nero 8 is not a supported burner with DVD Shrink. You can save to the HD and then burn, but it won't burn automatically. So it would be normal to have problems with it. Getting the updated Shrink exe that supports ImgBurn and using ImgBurn is the best freeware route. If you have the full Nero 8, you should be considering the use of Recode; which is pretty much a Shrink clone, but a good app and supported as well.
With the Hardware error all through the log, I'd take the suggestion of making sure the DMA is on (the firmware is up to date); and then trying the burn and supplying a new log. If you still have the hardware error, you could be looking at physical hardware problems. As someone mentioned, the first check is making sure the cables are in good condition, but I've seen mobos head south and cause the same error. It's just a matter of starting with the easiest and most likely problems and working toward the more difficult until you find the solution. Naturally the more a person knows about PCs the easier the job will be.
If you're wanting to use a burning program to eliminate Nero as the problem, you can use a trial of VSO's CopyToDVD. It's a supported burner in Shrink. Otherwise the easy route is to use DVD Decrypter to burn with or save to the HD and burn with ImgBurn. That or use the updated Shrink exe I mentioned. I'm always forgetting where to find a download for it. Check with Binkie, maybe she remembers.
