I see a lot of people like DVD-R(W) on this site because it seems to have a higher compatability with settop DVD players. However when I searched the web it seemed most people seemed to like DVD+R(W) because its technology was more reliable and more efficient.

Therefore I have concluded that it doesn't really matter if you have + or -. They both do the trick, if you have problems you just have to experiment with different media. If you really need to make a choice figure out what is more improtant to you, compatibility or reliability.

Right now the market is at about 50/50 +/-. However - came out first, so + seems to be getting a little more headway in the market as of right now.

Or you can just get a combo drive and not worry about a thing.

There are a lot of comparisons to VHS Vs Beta, but the difference here is that + and - both work in DVD players. So there really doesn't have to be a winner.

So, basically it doesn't matter if you have a + burner or a - burner, as long as make sure to get the right media for your burner.
