Hello all. I like to read, and this is my first post ever, anywhere, where I am asking for help.

I have a psp 2000 on 3.80 OFW and no access to any other psp. I have my pandora battery waiting for me. I have two memory sticks, the one that came with the daxter pack (1 gig sony mspd) and a 4 gig sandisk mspd. I have used easy installers and universal unbrickers left and right to make my magic memory stick and nothing works. The command prompt is also a no go. The issue is I cant partition my memory stick or format it properly. If I use the installers it copies files and goes right to the end, no formatting push (Y) nonsense. In the command prompt i get the ol' "Logical drive has more than a physical drive. Cannot handle it." and another method with command prompt I get:

"C:\\pandora\msipl>msipl G msipl.bin
PSP MS IPL Installer
Load IPL code msipl.bin
241664 bytes (59 block) readed
error 0x000000 deviceIo in control"

Yes I'm on XP and an administrator. Is the only way to make myself a magic memory stick with the use of another psp on cfw? Is there someway to correct my issue?

Any and all help is appreciated.

I have heard of other members having issues with 64-BIT XP.

So if your XP is 64-bit then that could be the issue.

Go HERE and use this guide. Place the easy installer folder into your MAIN C: Directory (Click on My Computer then click on C: MAIN and place the easy installer in that directory and run it:. I have heard this has solved others issues.

If that doesn't work all i can suggest is try using a different Memory Stick and or PC.

(Sorry I don't know how to edit) One thing I should mention is that I have also formatted the memory stick to FAT (both quick and normal format) using XP. ie. my computer>removable disk drive G - right click - format. I've done this before using the command prompt and other installers to see if it would have helped. No dice.

Thanks for the responses. I've been through those links several times already =P. The 64-bit XP thing is an interesting theory. Didn't come across that. I guess I'll have to go to another PC. As for other memory sticks, I'm plenty happy with owning 2, don't want to make it 3 =P. I'll post back when I try this on another PC.

Problem solved. So relieved. Now I have to attend to other business. Mess around with my psp later. Anyways! The issue was Windows XP after all. After your mentioning of XP possibly being the problem I looked around and apparently you have to have it up to date. Well I "lost" my key, and it couldn't get verified so I just put a new XP on my system. Then I used an uploader from I don't know where that used dc4. Anything, universal, newbie, easy, whatever works since my memory stick is formatted.

Thank you larrylje. I asked for help on these forums because of the helpfullness of people. (ie you and binkie7)
