A start with. I have read through the post on eDoneky/eMule tutorial.

Here is the deal.

When I connect to an eDonkey Server I get lowid most of the time. If I click on the eDonkey server I want and look at the connection info. It tells me that port 4664 is not open. It could not connect to server xxx. BUT does return an many digit id to me!!!! If I click on that server again to connect. eDonkey reports that I am already connected to the server.

I am able to download from the server at 30KB/s, but this sucks compared to cable modem bandwidth.

My question are the following.
1. Is the id assigned by the eDoneky Servers or by the client?
2. If I can download, does that imply that my ports are opened?
3. Is there any way to fool the id status?
4. Is there something my ISP is doing to force the lowid?
5. What is the max download speed others have been able to achive with eDonkey?
