According to DisplaySearch, Sony has jumped ahead in holiday quarter LCD TV sales while Vizio has dropped. This quarter marks the first time Sony has been on top of LCD sales and DisplaySearch said the lead was built upon "top showings" in the 40-44", 45-49" and 50-54" categories. Sharp's are definitely the best for the price. I payed $1300 for a 42D64U and I love it :P

Rivals those over 2Gs

I was amazed when I saw the quality of blu-ray on a Sony LCD on display in Best Buy. I thought the movie was in 3D. It was a lot better side by side with lower priced models. If those keep going down in price, I may get a 47".

So far I like my Vizio 37inch TV. It was $749 at Sam's Club. Intersting my cuz got the same TV for $40 more at Wally...but with less features.

But I still want a sony. But that will be next year...we want a bigger TV...so I'll be shopping for a 42" Full HDTV LCD. Really no channels broadcast in 1080p, just 1080i...and the Vizio does a great job with that. Odd how clear the picture is with a contrast ratio of 1000:1.
