How reliable is the HD combo compared to just a mod chip to allow you to play burned games. I was getting ready to buy the silver slim ps2 and put my current mod chip in it because my current ps2 quit reading games. (Its not the laser that broke.. its the chip that controls the laser, or something like that.) My friend who already has an hd combo on his slim ps2 told me that I could just buy an hd combo and it would be cheaper. But he also said that his hd sometimes freezes up or gets choppy after extended play on games like guitar hero. I am wondering if it is like that for all hd combos, or how long id have to play for it to freeze up or get choppy. Cuz when I play I like to play for a long time.
