I'm dreadfully sorry to post another Wiikey thread, but I really can't find the answers I need anywhere.
I installed my wiikey myself and having closed up the console I'm trying to get the software side of things done. I'm led to believe that the first thing I need do is run 1.9g, yet when I put in the discs I've burnt (GCOS or otherwise) the console refuses to recognise them.
I am using a PAL console. I have played SMG PRIOR to installing the Wiikey, is that an issue? Please, if anyone knows how best for me to proceed in completing my wiikey installation I would be most grateful.
could be the brand of dvds?
if ur firmware is 3.0 or above u need to run the hacked config 1.3 disc to turn region override on then do 1.9g if it is a wiikey installed
look for links in the firmware sticky post at top of forum by rafadawn for the hacked disc
could also be down to a duff chip or a duff install check your soldering or if you know someone with a working backup try it in yours
So I have to use the config disc FIRST? I was told to ue 1.9g first, THEN config 1.3! So I use config 1.3, THEN try 1.9g? Okay, I'll try that! Thanks, I'll keep you posted.
wait a minute...(im gonna do my wiikey install this weekend)...I will have to use the hacked 1.3 disc? BEFORE I run the 1.9g firmware update? I was under the impression from rafadawn's sticky that I needed to run the 1.9g firmware update, let it run through twice to finish. then do the 1.3 config and only the 1.3 hacked if that didnt work. If I am currently on the latest Wii update (3.1 I believe) what EXACTLY will I need to do upon install to get it all up and running?
I dont think it really matters which you run first, I ran the 1.3 config then the 1.9g, because thats the order they were released, the only the 1.9g does to my knowledge is allows super mario galaxy to be played using the wiikey due to it's different encryption or something to that effect. All you guys need to do is solder that thing in, run 1.3 so you can play out of region games, and 1.9g so you can play smg. be sure to allow have your console updated with nintendo's wifi connect updates. enjoy
