Greets,

Is there any way to know whether the Sony STR-DA5300ES is getting to its end of life? I am thinking of buying this model (because I need a second zone component output to feed a cable running to a different room), but do not really want to do so if its about to be supplanted (and price dropped).

ANY help is greatly appreciated.

The Sony STR-DA5300ES receiver, is their newest. It has all the new technology for processing the HD audio formats (HD DVD and Blu ray), and has 6 HDMI inputs. I'm sure it's gonna be around awhile, before prices start coming down much. Sometimes Amazon.com runs good sales on receivers.
