How have some people on call of duty changed the colour of their name?

also, how have some people put playstation symbols in their clan tag? e.g. L3, R3, X, O etc

But I dont see a point really, when I see a bright green name on the screen it is just distracting.

The only one I don't mind is the black, but everything else including the buttons in the name tag are plain distracting and annoying.
