OK I have a question for the experts.

I have a Dlink Media Lounge hooked up to my home entertainment system. I have been converting my DVD collection to xvid and storing them on my NAS server. When I started using AutoGK I noticed that a percentage of the movies and TV series that I was converting was coming up with a "field order transition was detected" message. I would just tell it to continue. When done I would run the movie on my PC using any number of players. They turned out great. So I move them to the server.

Now, I started noticing as I was watching the movies on my entertainment system that some of the movies had the audio out of sync. I could not figure out the pattern. I finally realized that the ones that were out of sync were the ones that I was getting the "field order transition was detected" message on during conversion. The weird thing is that I can play any of the movies on any of the computers in the house and the audio is in perfect sync. Just not on the Media Lounge.

I am not asking how to fix these movies so they play on the Media Lounge (I have already found a solution), but I am wondering how/why the Media Lounge plays the audio out of sync but the computer players don't? The other strange thing is that if I stop the movie on the Media lounge and restart from the same location, the audio is back in sync. It is odd.

Any thoughts?

Shawn
