Hi there,
Up until tonight I haven't had any issues with IMG Burn but its acting very strange. WHen I put in a blank disc and try to back up
my movie I am getting this message.
DeviceIoControl(FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME)Failed!
Device:[0:0:0]TOSHIBA CD/DVDW SD-R5372 TU56 (G)(USB)
Unable to lock volume for exclusive access.
Reason: Access is Denied
What in the worl does all this mean and what has happened?
I have an external burner and the USB 2.0 and I have never
had a problem until tonight. So im needing some help here,
is this an IMG Burn problem or a problem with my Burner?
Any help is appreciated.

Ok I went to that thread and followed the directions that were there and nothing changed. Im still getting the same message as I posted above. WHat do I do now to get back to burning with my burner?
What is causing this to happen and why did it start all of a sudden.
Any help is appreciated.

1Tizz,
Did you open Imgburn and went to Tools>Settings>Write Tab and made sure Lock Volume-Exclusive Access is checked? Do you by any chance have Imgburn running in two instances?

First, please see my edited post above. Imgburn should have that option checked by default. That thread pretty much discussed all avenues including the recommended fixes. Open your Task Manager and see what programs may possibly interfere with Imgburn during the burning process.

Basically, you're looking for any other burning software in your machine. What was the last burning application you've installed before this occurred?

This thing happened to me couple of times. Usually after ImgBurn crashed when trying to access folder before disk finished its cycle after insertion.
After computer restart everything was OK.
I was told by LIGHTNING UK, that my problem of ImgBun crashing is Auto Start is ON for the drive.

ANy ideas on what I can do to fix this problem? Do you think its IMG Burn or my actual burner? Im getting frustrated now.

I have un installed IMG Burn and the Divx Player so I will re-install IMG Burn tomorrow and see what happens then I will re-post the outcome. Hopefully that will take care of the issue.
Thanks

Hey there,
Ok this is what Ive done, I uninstalled Divx Player and I uninstalled IMG Burn and then rebooted and re-installed IMG Burn and everything is working fine again. Must of been the IMG Burn. I wonder why IMG Burn does that?
Anyway, everything is working like normal again so if it causes issues i'll be back.
Thanks for the help & info.
