when I try to stream certain movies they dont play smoothly. They play like a scratched up dvd the videos is constantly skipping. I've tried tversity and that was still no help. I know the file isn't corrupted because it plays fine on my pc its just a regular xvid avi file.

probably just a problem with the stream or conversion then.
That also happens sometimes with people using it through wireless connection. I tried the whole streaming thing one time before i found out that the quality i wanted was just not there. Plus my modded Xbox 1 does a much better job. Not to mention i can just transfer the file to the HDD and play it from there rather than streaming it.

In my humble opinion the 360 is really not a good media center at all. It is great for playing games but as far as a media center the regular Xbox has it beat hands down.

Spend the money and get a modded Xbox or even a DVD player that supports DivX files (about $70).
