I think it's logical to assume there will be more - probably not all but certainly some.
Also - it's nothing to do with SSBB being a "major release" - it's either been done because it's more practical in terms of data storage or to further increase security and deter piracy.
I figured there would be more dl to come but I was mainly just trying to judge how many dl dvds to buy.
It seriously is to deter pirates. The technology has been around quite awhile yet it is near impossible to find them for around $1 a disc. I wonder what nintendo pays for them? :)
Its causing so much trouble for wii's that are NOT chipped, you've gotta wonder if the big N has put it in place for piracy or simply the manufacturer was a bit dodgy or low quality (or the wii is picky).
So you have to wonder if Nintendo will even continue to use them if you're gettting read errors if you smoke in the room with your wii? I don't smoke, but c'mon thats ridiculous.
I am actually going to hold off buying Mario Kart (I'm not actually interested in smash brothers) if indeed it turns out to be dual layer because I don't want to load the game, get a read error, reset, play for a while, get a read error. Its not worth the hassle, and to be told the machine has to be cleaned?!? they should've made a more hardy console.
But, I guess we will see. Lets just hope that the issues that geniune copies of games are having with none chipped wii's will either cause them not to use dual layer or to make them more compatable with the wii.
