I have a classic PSP, running on 3.80 M33-v5, and for some reason, some of my PSX games won't work. Resident Evil 2 and 3 are examples.
They will boot fine, and I get to see the introductory movies, but the actual game won't start. (black screen on RE3 and being stuck on "This Game has gory graphics..." message on RE2 Clair's CD)
I have verified that I have the latest compatible popsloader for 3.80M33 as well.
Also, I need to know what version of pops I need to select when launching a PSX game on my PSP:
Resident Evil 3 (PAL) will not boot on any PSP !!! :)
In Resident Evil 2 & 3 (NTSC version), you'll have to use the Game ID "SLPS 01222" while making the "EBOOT.PBP"

And well, the pops depends on the games ^_^
If the game does not work on 3.80m33 then, you'll have to choose a suitable pops in which it works ^_^
eg: "Brave Fencer Musashi" (Works with Game ID SLPS 01222) works on 3.40 & 3.52 pops properly while it doesn't work on 3.71 pops at all (Even on Game ID SLPS 01222)
So, I use popsloader and put 3.52 pops so that it can work ^_^
