Hi all, i just got a 60gb ps3 unopened from a friend for a pretty good price.(300 to be exact) I want to keep this PS3 secret. Any suggestions on what screen i should get for it, or how i can hook it up to a Dell XPS m1710. Price is a huge problem so the cheaper the better. Also are AV cords included in the box for a PS3 or only HDTV input? I really have no idea what i am doing with this so any help is appreciated.

Hey dude, did you get it for $ or £.
The cords you get with your PS3 are Composite(none HD),have you not opened it yet.
Also what is the maximum your wanting to spend on an HDTV.

The cords included in the PS3's box are SD only. You will have to buy the HD cords unless they come with the TV.
If you want to go cheap but have the best graphics possible look into getting a 22" HDCP monitor and hook it up to the PS3 using a HDMI to DVI cord; and you will get full 1080P out of it. The monitors usually run around $200 and the cord is about $30.
The only problem this creates is how to hook up the sound, the simplest method would be to get a composite to phono adapter and then you can simply use the red and white audio cords included with the PS3 and hook them up to any computer speakers. Of course you could always use the optical, with much better results; but you would have to have a home theater receiver with an optical input.
Hope that helps.

Hey i got it for $, the max/min i am willing to spend is about 150-300, but i really want to go for about 200(not including cord).
canuckerz that idea sounds like the best by far possible idea to me, is it possible that u can link me specific monitors and where to get them? i did some searching myself but i wasn't able to come up with any monitors with the HD input. Any links to good monitors from the 15-22 inch range is fine. As for the sound, the monitor will have a simple earphone jack right?, and if so would i be able to get decent sound with just normal speakers? (which my roomy has a good pair, and i have a portable pair that i could hook up). Ordering from the internet is fine of course btw, i don't have to pick up in store.
thanks for all the responses

Some monitors have built in speakers others don't. And yes with the adapter you will be able to plug it into anything using a simple headphone jack.
Here's likely your best deal:

The Same Monitor again but from WalMart for $20 more but you don't have to pay shipping:

And heres the cord you will need:

Do a search on the monitor and make 100% sure that it is HDCP or you will just be wasting money, I'd do it for you but the link you gave is busted.
