recently i have found a few music videos that are in .vob format. it has both the video and the audio in 1 vob file. the quality is excellent! i have tried a few different methods, but, no dice on creating a single file with that extention. i can get a m2v(video only) and vob(audio file only) but can not combine them into a single vob file. does anyone know how to do this and can yo help???
I don"t understand your Question..If you have a VOB file then you allready have a File with audio and Video..A VOB file is Just a Mpeg2 file that has been Ripped off of a DVD, so can you explain in More detail what you are trying to do???
ok, i don't understand now. i see there is VOB files on the dvd. i'm under the impression to extract a single file (video)i need to use DVD Decrypter. i go to mode ifo, uncheck all the files i don't want, go to stream processing and the Demux. what i get in the end is the video i want but in 2 peices. the first is a m2v (video only) part and a vob(audio only) part. the question i have is how do you put those 2 parts back together so to get a single VOB file with both the video and audio? or is there another way to do this directly from the dvd to achieve the same result?
Well Firstly you shouldn"t have tried to extract the Audio within DVD Decryptor because it allways extracts the audio with a VOB extention, SmartRipper will exrtact it Properly...All you need to do it Rip the VOB file with it"s One Video track and one audio track and now if you want to seperate the VOB into a M2v file and an AC3 audio file you can use Tmpgenc"s "Mpeg Tools" and use it"s "De-Multiplex" to seperate the audio and Video Files, and when you want to Join the Back together into a Single Mpeg2 file then you would use TMPGEnc "Simple Multiplex"...Cheers
PS: I still don"t know why you are trying to do this...??
THANX!! it worked perfectly! the reason i am doing this s because i ave a bunch of artists video dvds (videos like on MTV), i wanted to take certain ones and make my own mixed dvd of videos to watch on my big tv, lol! i was able to rip the individual trax, put only the ones i'd liked in a folder and went on to create a simple dvd w/out menus and stuff (i am still able to go to the next or prior trax tho). it plays fine on my pc, but not on my sony standalone player. any advise on why it won't play on the standalone but on my pc worx great??
What are you useing to Author your Files to DVD??? Cuz you can not just Put the VOB files in a Folder and Burn them to DVD as if they were Data Files..What you Need to do it use a DVD authoring Program which will Add at least One menu and Chapters if you want and then it will format the Files properly into a Video_TS Folder and then it gets burned to DVD-R in DVD-Video Mode..Something really simple to use is "Tmpgenc DVD author" and you can download a 30 day demo at the TMPGEnc site...Cheers
