I don't see much in this for yahoo, but I do see a lot for M$.

Usually when a huge business raises the prospect of a hostile takeover it means that they perceive the target as a possible competitor to either it's current business or future plans.

M$ aren't exactly a high profile business on the net, and with the antitrust lawsuit decisions sitting firmly against them I think it's probably better for the rest of us if they stay that way, or we will have an internet where soon you will need vista (or whatever current M$ offering it is) just to access any web pages or search engines..

I say good on yahoo for refusing them an easy ride. We saw how easily M$ buckled to the wishes of US vested interests a.k.a. hollywood and the riaa over vista and drm, do we want them on the reasonably free internet with their monopolistic behaviour and shady tactics, pushing out all the competition with proprietary standards and page/browser formats?

I'm watching closely ;)

i dislike micro soft very much in the fact that they have screwed me to many times
