I've been having a problem for while now, it's to do with Resident evil 2. I'm using a PS1\2 or PS1 slim, whatever it's called.

My problem is with the disk 1, Leon's mission. As I play through the game everything is fine until I reach "Umbrellas Secret Underground Lab" As Leon put's it.

As I enter the room with the three colored walkways. Red, Blue, White, and there is a main fuse.... thing in the middle of the room.

The problem is, the darn room won't load. I found out when I get there the CD stops spinning. I have however found a solution, I take out dick 1 and put in disk 2 (Claire) for a few seconds then replace disk 1. The room loads. But I have to do this every time I enter that room.

But it works fine in "Extreme Battle Mode"

Does anybody have a clue what's causing my game to goof up, I mean there aren't an scratches on it at all.

Any help would be nice.

How and sorry for posting in a PS2 forum, there were no PS1 forum's

hate to tell you but you may have a scratched disc. i know you say that it isnt but when i worked for a video game store we had people come in and complain about their games not working even though they looked pretty clean. so we would take them and "sand" them a little with a professional dvd cleaner. maybe your can try that, or try and find a new game. but to reiterate, its obviously a problem with your leon disc. once the ps1 finds the files its looking for on clairs scenario, then the room loads fine. again i suggest either clean it for try to find a new copy.

its very safe as long as the person sanding the disc knows what they are doing. and when i say sanding i dont actually mean a piece of sand paper. its a rough padded piece of paper that helps sand away deep scratches. but if you can find someone who had a machine like that or who knows what they are doing as far as "Sanding a disc" then i say go for it.
