yeah, i tried doing this, and it seems nearly impossible... I currently have a 15w Radio Shack Soldering gun, if I buy a pencil tip for my soldering iron, will that make it easier?
Also, is it worth trying to get a fat PS2 system instead of trying to use a slimline?
This is the point you are trying to solder below in the picture? If so, you just need to take some flux and touch it right where the red is. Then dip the wire in the flux. Put some solder on the iron and hold for 2-3 seconds. It should stick right away.
The point should actually be fairly easy to solder. MAKE SURE NOT TO HOLD THE GUN ON THAT SPOT FOR TOO LONG! That will come right off the board if the gun is held too long.
Yeah, just take your time with it, just don't hold it on for more then 2-3 seconds and you'll be fine. It takes a steady hand. Let us know if you have any problems.
