Just bought a 8gb pro duo and upgraded cfm from 3.71m33-4 to 3.90m33. After which i put multiple backup isos for my various games in the ISO folder. When trying to load them it has only recognised 1 iso as present and if i delete that one it recognises none. If i format and do it again it might recognise 1 again, not necessarily the same one.

Previously on 3.71m33-4 on a 4gb stick i could fully load it with iso's and play any of them without problem.

Any ideas on what this might be? and solutions?

Cheers.

First of all, go to infrmation from your psp and try to see if the magic gate is supported. If it's unknown or unsupported, then it's 90 % a fake mem stick.

If the magic gate is suppoted, then, downgrade back to 3.71 m33 then upgrade to 3.80 m33, cuz 3.90 m33 is a piece of s***

You might need to install the 1.50 Kernal V2 because that patched something to do with 8GB memory sticks.

but 3.80 and 3.90 are very similar aren't they? it was a very speedy update from 3.80 to 3.90 m33 for D_A to produce and 3.80 was when sony 'broke' (optimised LOL) the ms driver which they failed to bother fixing in 3.90

isn't the choice 3.71m33 or 3.90m33 really?

1.52>2.0>1.5>3.40 OE-A>3.71 M33-4
3.60>4.01 M33-2

I have just read a thread about detecting whether the pro duo is fake or not. Im now 90% certain it's a fake, so this is probably the problem. Thanks for your help.

Incidently,

Is a pandora battery the only way to downgrade from 3.90m33 back to anything previous?

Yeah the best choice beetween 3.71 M33-3.80 M33-3.90 M33 would be the 3.71 M33.

Yes. Or, you can downgrade to 1.5 with recovery folder, but better downgrade directly to 3.71 M33 or 3.80 M33 w/Pandora Battery

if you have 3.90m33 is it safe to downgrade to a lower m33 firmware like 3.80m33-5 or 3.71m33-4 using the pandora battery on a psp slim?

Well just want to make sure since I'm dealing with a Slim which can't be fixed if a problem occurs...unlike the Fat...
