i've successfully backed up GTA3 & Vice City using TwinPeak & the relevant BWA's, following the Securom guides here :)

neither of them play on my CD player - but they both work fine on my DVD player - so no complaints at all

i was just curious as to why this is?

HP CD-Writer cd16f
Samsung DVD Rom SD-616F

Merry Xmas y'all

I cant remember if this applies but burners have a mechanism for reading the physical info from a disc, the ATIP whereas nonburning drives have no need for this feature and thus dont have it included. Some protection schemas incorpoate a quick check of the ATIP and if you run the backup in a non-burner drive you can workaround this.

Burning the "TwinPeak method" backing up SecuROM cd protection, not every backup will launch from any dvd\cd-rom m8. . Your best option is to use BlindWrite 5 and use your HP as "reader"(read sub-q channel data\audio), create a backup(play disc\bwa file) then use your Samsung as "reader" and create an additional backup(play disc\bwa file). Now try both backups and hopefully one of them will launch from both drives. I would think your backup made with your HP would work in both drives..... ATIP isn't a factor when backing p SecuROM cd protection and this is where the Plexy drives "blows away" other competitors backing up SecuROM cd protection. Why? Plexy has it's on VariRec burn technology designed specifically for SecuROM cd protection. If you backup pc game protection on a routine basis then I recommend the Plextor Premium (52\32\52x) cd burner or the Plextor PX-708A dvd burner. (If you can afford them).

Shoey :)
